Dr. Marc Wosar, DVM, ACVS

With more than twenty years of experience as a veterinary surgeon and researcher, Dr. Wosar has been practicing in the Chicago area since 2017. A lifelong animal lover, he primarily focuses on neurosurgical, orthopedic, and soft tissue procedures. Most of his patients are dogs and cats, but also has experience working with exotics and wildlife. A fascination with the surgical arts and love of learning, Dr. Wosar has fostered a heartfelt desire to heal animals with the most advanced care and technical skill available today.
Born and raised in Miami, Dr. Wosar attended Emory University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology. He then attended the University of Florida, where he earned a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine summa cum laude. He completed a rotating internship and then a surgical residency at North Carolina State University, earning a Master’s in Specialized Veterinary Medicine (MSpVM) at the same time. In 2003, he was awarded diplomacy in the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.
Dr. Wosar has been an Adjunct Clinical Faculty member at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, where he participated in the training of students, interns and residents. He is a peer reviewer on the editorial boards of four publications: Veterinary Surgery, Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association, American Journal of Veterinary Research, and Veterinary and Comparative Orthopaedics and Traumatology, and contributes to writing research manuscripts and textbook chapters. He is also on the faculty of the AO North America and AO Latin America, the most prestigious international orthopedic research and education organizations, where he lectures on orthopedic surgery theory and techniques in the U.S. and internationally.
He and his wife, Dr. Olivia Parwana, reside on the north side of Chicago. In his spare time, Dr. Wosar enjoys hiking, biking, running, archery, cooking, sailing, scuba diving, and travel.
